KKing's Counsel AI

Investment & partnerships

Build the next layer of legal work with us.

King's Counsel AI is being developed around English and Welsh law, with sources, scrutiny and professional judgement at its centre. We welcome investors and legal partners who want to help turn that foundation into a working platform.

The market context

A substantial legal market, with international reach.

English law is used well beyond England and Wales. Our first task is closer to home: earn the trust of the professionals who research, draft and review under that system every day.

Published research

Adoption varies. Responsibility remains.

The SRA's small-firm research shows how adoption and expectations differ. PwC's law firm survey records what larger firms anticipate. The regulator sets out what remains the responsibility of solicitors and firms.

82%

Potential for better client value

In the same SRA research, 82% agreed that technology and innovation could help their part of the sector provide better value to clients.

16%

Predicted hours saved

PwC’s 2025 Law Firm Survey reports that firms predict average hours saved through AI adoption of 16%.

The SRA's 2026 warning notice identifies false or inaccurate citations and client confidentiality as particular risks. It says solicitors remain accountable for their work when AI is used.

The wider market is changing too: Google Cloud announced Gemini Enterprise for Legal in August 2026 ↗, describing legal skills, connectors and governance.

Our position

Useful legal AI has to show its work.

We see an opportunity to make source-led research and accountable drafting available to more of the profession. The planned product connects answers to primary authorities, keeps a record of assisted work and leaves the final decision with a qualified person.

Depth before breadth

Begin with English and Welsh primary law, the sources behind an answer and the procedural context in which a lawyer will use it.

Accountability by design

Build citation provenance, human review and a durable record of actions into the workflow from the foundation phase.

A wider professional market

Offer a clear entry point for individual practitioners and smaller teams, alongside governed arrangements for firms and enterprise buyers.

A staged commercial model. A limited Free tier is intended to lead into published Solo and Practice pricing, with Firm and Enterprise arrangements scoped to each organisation. All plans and prices remain proposed until launch.

The expansion path

English law first. Further jurisdictions, deliberately.

International growth begins with work already governed by English law, then moves into other legal systems only when the sources, local expertise and safeguards are ready.

  1. 01 / Foundation

    England and Wales

Establish primary-source coverage, research evaluation, human review, audit events and a secure portal for solicitors, barristers and in-house teams.

  2. 02 / Reach

    English-law work across borders

Support legal teams handling English-law contracts and disputes internationally, with integrations and governance shaped by their actual workflows.

  3. 03 / Expansion

    Selected additional legal systems

Assess other jurisdictions with local practitioners and source partners. Each one needs its own corpus, evaluation, regulatory review and data arrangements before any launch.

Ways to work with us

Capital and professional expertise can shape the foundation together.

For investors

We are open to strategic investment conversations that can support engineering, primary-source coverage, independent evaluation, legal and security assurance, and early market testing. A detailed plan and proposed terms can be discussed privately.

For law firms and chambers

We welcome design partners willing to help define real research and drafting tasks, test source quality, challenge the review workflow and guide governance requirements. Strategic investment or a broader commercial partnership can be explored separately.

The next stage

Help turn a defined product into a tested one.

The immediate programme is the English-law source pipeline, citation evaluation, audit and identity foundations, followed by a portal and controlled practitioner pilots. We want partners who will test those claims as carefully as we make them.
